My goodness! That's insane. Sad to say I've had some of the same conversations about different things over the years. My most recent one was from a house we were trying to rent. We knew it was legitimate because we found them through a rental company. So we emailed and asked exactly where the house was (for schools and such) and they kept emailing back the application and saying they love that we want to rent it and hope that we respect the house (in about the same english as your emails). They NEVER got it. Needless to say, we are now renting a new house, from a nice english speaking couple. It's so frustrating! At least they could go to freetranslation.com or something and figure out exactly what you are saying! Aghh
